Shopping the “Loop”

Focus on the shopping “Loop”,

We need to eat and for most of us, hopefully the grocery store is the place where we get the majority of our food as opposed to eating out, for obvious reasons. But shopping in grocery store can be just as unhealthy as eating fast food, if we aren’t mindful of what we buy and how we shop.

First, we must be cognizant of the layout of grocery stores in general. The outside or the perimeter walls are usually where the refrigeration is. This is where the food is more “live” and has a “shelf life” such as the produce, dairy, meats and “store” prepared foods.

The “inside aisles” are mostly where the “dead” foods or the foods that can be stored for years without spoilage are, because there is nothing that is in it that resembles the structures they used to have, if they were found in nature, and a lot of the products found there are manufactured and not even from nature.

A good rule of thumb is, if you can’t pronounce it, or its ingredients, it’s probably not from nature, and won’t provide anything your body needs.

So by focusing on the outside walls of the store (especially the produce section) and making the “loop”, we can increase our chances of finding better foods that will assist our bodies in health instead of impede it.

The information is well worth reading. More people should shop the loop. We can all be better prepared for whatever comes our way.

WOW I love that! I never thought that. I have gotten to the point I just shop everyday for dinner. Good way to stay healthy so you are not buying just a bunch of junk.
