Of our senses? We would like to think so.
But it isn’t necessarily the case.
Senses are perceived by us, by the physical receptors and specialization of our 5 senses, but then it is interpreted by certain parts of our brain. Yet those certain parts of our brain has been “trained” since birth, by our integration of our 5 senses as well as repetition, our judgments etc.
Where as, a visual of a food, for example, enhances our perceived taste…restaurants know it and spend time and energy on presentation. And in in eliminating one of ours senses, like eating in the dark, it changes our perceptions of what is tasted.
The same goes for all else we perceive, it just how we have allowed our interpretation of our brains to be developed.
