In the wild..

There is usually a leader in most species of animals.

And in most animal groups, there is a leader at one end of the scale and on the other end is the runt.

The “pecking order” if you will, is usually based on size and strength, and is tied with the concept of survival of the fittest, as their brains are wired and tend to be adept at merely driving self-preservation and the continuation of their species.

However, humans have a highly developed cerebral cortex, which is responsible for thought, memory, attention, language and other cerebral functions, allowing us to not rely on the “pecking order”, as in the animal world.

That being said, we all have a choice to be what we want to be, and that is a pretty cool choice indeed.
